The Atomiade is a sports event organised under the auspices of ASCERI (Association of the Sports Communities of the European Research Institutes), with the spirit of promoting the exchanges and the creation of bonds between participants from European research labs through sport. Although it is about ‘competition’, the spirit is to have fun, take part and enjoy socialising.

Over the course of a week, the Winter Atomiade includes alpine skiing, snowboarding and cross-country skiing challenges, as well as other more fun challenges and events in a friendly and convivial atmosphere. The next Atomiade 2020 will take place from 21th to 28th of March in the Avoriaz Resort with capacity for around 250 participants.

There is no need to be a champion as the challenges are relatively accessible to all those willing to have fun (apart from complete beginners). Register now on http://www.kananas.com/skiclubcern/ until the end of November.

In order to ensure a smooth organisation of such a great event we need volunteers to welcome participants, distribute materials, drinks, prizes and medals, as well as to provide support for the challenges on the slopes. If you are interested, please contact us at atomiades-2020-committee@cern.ch.
