(Partially) Composite WIMPs

Where:

4/2-037 at CERN

I will review the status of new physics connected to the origin of the weak scale and its relation to the dark matter puzzle. I will argue that in view of the LHC results some assumptions in building models of composite Higgs bosons should be reviewed, suggesting using global symmetries of their strong sector to stabilize dark matter. I will discuss the embedding of dark matter in these models as a stable (partially) composite WIMP, presenting a number of possible candidates, including "composite electroweak-inos" and other candidates. I will sketch the relevant aspects of the phenomenology of these states as they appear to us while work is still in progress.
