Electroweak observables in light nuclei with quantum Monte Carlo methods
 
Abstract:
Nuclei play an important role in searches for new physics as both a precision measurement tool and an active component in experiments. Validating nuclear models across a range of observables and energy scales is crucial to perform the accurate calculations needed to interpret experimental results. I will present quantum Monte Carlo calculations of magnetic structure of light nuclei using the Norfolk family of two- and three-nucleon forces and consistent one- and two-nucleon electromagnetic currents. Using these same models, I will then show matrix element calculations of three-nucleon contributions to beyond the Standard Model searches with nuclear physics, namely neutrinoless double beta decay and precision single beta decay.
